Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District PUBLIC NOTICE and ANNOUNCEMENT on District 3 School Board Member Vacancy
The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District Board of Trustees hereby announces a vacancy for the District 3 School Board Member position.
Qualified individuals who are interested in serving are encouraged to submit a letter of interest. The letter must include the applicant’s full name and detailed summary of his or her experience and qualifications relevant to the position.
Eligibility Requirements:
A candidate shall be a qualified elector of the district in which [appointment] is sought and must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, the candidate must have been a resident of the county district in which he or she seeks [appointment] for two (2) years preceding the date of [appointment].

Important Notice:
This is not an announcement for a special election. This announcement is limited to the filling of a school board vacancy pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. § 37-5-19 (2024).
Term of Service:
The individual appointed will serve the unexpired term of the former school board member, which ends on December 31, 2026.
Submission Deadline:
All letters of interest must be received no later than Monday, April 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
