The Greenwood Public School District and the Leflore County School District officially merged on July 1, 2019.
The Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District (GLCSD) is under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Mary Brown and her amazing administrative team: Deputy Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Pulley; Assistant Superintendent Likisha Coleman; and Assistant Superintendent Charles Jones.
The school district's Board of Trustees is comprised of five board members representing each of the county's five supervisory districts. Samantha Milton serves as the board's president.
The GLCSD has a student population of almost 4,800 and is comprised of fourteen (14) schools- seven elementary schools; two middle/junior high schools; three high schools; and two alternative schools. The district also has two Career and Technical Education centers.
The GLCD employs approximately 820 individuals, including highly qualified administrators,and teachers and devoted and trained classified staff.
The GLCSD aims to unite, educate, and prepare all students for college and career by providing a high-quality learning experience.
